Solana error: Not enough SOL for rent (InsufficientFundsForRent)
Creating or funding an account would leave it below the rent-exempt minimum, so the network rejected the transaction.
Why it happens
- Every account must hold a minimum SOL balance to stay alive; a partial funding amount is rejected outright.
- Sending an amount that leaves an account between zero and the rent minimum is not allowed.
- Closing an account and immediately spending the recovered rent can produce this error.
How to fix it
- Fund the account with at least the rent-exempt minimum (about 0.00089 SOL for a basic account, about 0.00204 SOL for a token account).
- Top the wallet up with a small amount of SOL and retry.
- If you are sweeping a wallet, keep enough SOL behind for rent.
