Why it happens
- A hard-coded gas limit was reused for a call with more calldata.
- Contract deployment needs far more than 21,000 — deploying with a plain transfer's limit always fails.
- A custom script bypassed eth_estimateGas.
How to fix it
- Let the wallet or SDK estimate gas instead of hard-coding it.
- For a simple transfer use exactly 21,000; for anything else, estimate.
- Add 20% headroom on top of the estimate.
